Miss Brazil Francielly Ouriques is Crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2017

After the successful rebirth of Miss Asia Pacific International in 2016 under new owners and management, the pageant is back in the Philippines with 42 delegates from different countries. This pageant is dubbed as the mother of all beauty pageants in Asia and is the oldest such pageant in Asia.
Miss Brazil Francielly Ouriques was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2017. The newest ambassador of beauty and diversity accepted the crown from 2016 winner Tessa le Conge of the Netherlands at the coronation night held at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Wednesday night.

Miss New Zealand Kashe Walker took second place while Miss Honduras Valeria Cardona came in third.
Ouriques, Walker and Cardona were joined in the final round by the Netherlands' Morgan Doelwijt and the Philippines' Ilene Astrid de Vera who placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the Q & A, the Top 5 delegates were asked to answer the question, "Do you think that the advocacy of fostering love, appreciation and unity in diversity is relevant in this day and age. Why or why not?" Ouriques' answered through translator: "Absolutely! Fostering love nowadays is essential. I believed that we are all equal before God and all of us should be able to spread love, and spread good things among everybody. Respect, unity, and love are principles that my parents thought me and that everybody should foster that."

Meanwhile, the candidates who made the Top 15 were:

Lydia Simonis-Tariu from Cook Islands
Farrah Ahmed Kamal from Egypt
Patricia Seminario from Peru
Viktoriya Dashieva from Russia
The delegates from Brazil (1st), South Africa (2nd) and the Philippines (3rd) won Best in Swimsuits, while the delegates from Honduras (1st), the Philippines (2nd) and Vietnam (3rd) won Best in Evening Gown. The People's Choice Award went to the delegate from India, Sonika.

Miss Movenpick Boracay: Miss Honduras, Valeria Cordona
Press Favorites: Miss Yangon, Nay Chi Lin (1st), Miss Canada, Natalie Carriere (2nd) and Miss South Sudan, Achol Arow (3rd).
